PARKSIDE PROMISE COUNCIL!

Promise Councils are committed to supporting students based on three key areas identified by local teachers and staff:

  • Providing more adult mentors for students
  • Meeting the physical needs of students when they stand in the way of academic achievement
  • Increasing opportunities for family engagement

Our Parkside Promise Council is dedicated to student success!  Anything you can do to help is welcomed and appreciated!

Goal: Providing more adult mentors for students

What we will do: Invite leaders from the community to join our students for small group lunch discussions.

How you can help: Volunteer once a month to mentor a group of students! Please email Mrs. Barlow at barlowjr@unit5.org if interested in becoming a part of this opportunity!

What we will do: Volunteer coaches provide opportunities for students to participate in sports after school at no cost to them. Our sports opportunities currently in place are soccer for 3rd grade and basketball for 4th and 5th grades.

How you can help: Volunteer to assist our coaches by being an adult supervisor after school in the spring. Donate items needed to participate in these sports!

Goal: Meeting the physical needs of students when they stand in the way of academic achievement

What we will do: Conduct monthly food drives the 15th of each month.

How you can help: Donate any of the following items:

Easy Mac

Dry Pasta and Canned Marinara

Peanut Butter and Jelly

What we will do: Maintain clothing inventory to be used for a variety of student needs throughout the school year.

How you can help: Donate new or gently used clothing items.
